SEEKING CAREER DIRECTION? ASK AN ACS CAREER CONSULTANT
One of the most popular services offered to ACS members by the Department of Career Services is the Career Consulting Program. This one-on-one consultation assists chemists at all career stages from the young professional beginning a career to the mature career chemist entering "retirement" but wanting to remain active. Established in 1989 by the Committee on Professional Relations, the program has served more than 4,000 ACS members year-round since its inception. The career consultants are a volunteer corp of experienced chemists committed to your professional development.
ACS volunteer consultants are available to assist you with various aspects of employment and career development. Members can request career consultation about issues such as these:
Finding employment in academia, industry, or government
Writing an effective resume or CV
Starting a private consulting business
Launching a professional career
Changing from academia to industry
Deciding on pursuing a higher degree
