to be a member of the American Chemical Society
to use this service?
A. No. JobSpectrum.org is open to all chemical
science professionals. There are links from JobSpectrum.org
currently restricted to ACS members: the Salary
Comparator; Ask a Career Consultant; and Resume
Review. If you're interested in learning how to
become a member of ACS and the benefits of membership,
visit the ACS Web site at http://www.chemistry.org/join.
Q. I'm currently part of the Online Professional
Data Bank (Online PDB). Does my information automatically
transfer to JobSpectrum.org?
A. No. Everyone who is part of the Online PDB
can take this opportunity to open a JobSpectrum.org
account and update his or her information.
Q. Is the National Employment Clearing House
(NECH) part of JobSpectrum.org?
A. NECH will be fully integrated beginning with
the 2002 Spring ACS National Meeting, which will
run April 7-11 in Orlando, FL. If you are registered
with JobSpectrum, you must still register for
NECH and vice versa.
Q. How do I clean out my cache or my temporary
Internet files?
A. Netscape
On the tool bar at the top of your browser, click
on Edit|Preferences.
Expand the Advanced category by clicking on the
+ sign next to the word Advanced.
Click on Cache|Clear Memory Cache|Clear Disk Cache.
Click OK.
Internet Explorer
Click on View or Tools, depending on which version
you are using.
Select Internet Options. The pop-up screen defaults
to the General tab.
Under Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete
Files|OK.
Under History click on Clear History|OK.
Q. How do I enable my browser's cookies?
A. Please follow these instructions to enable
your browser's cookies:
Netscape:
Click on Edit|Preferences|Advanced.
Be sure the box that says Accept all cookies is
checked off. Click OK to Exit.
Internet Explorer:
Go To Internet Options (under either View or Tools
depending on version)
Click Security
Click Custom Level
Scroll Down to Cookies
Enable Cookies should be checked off. Click OK
to Exit
